Nailbender Posted July 31, 2007 Share #1 Posted July 31, 2007 Why would someone want to know how many and what type of armpit vent holes in my M-42 ? Thanks
Peace Posted July 31, 2007 Share #2 Posted July 31, 2007 Nailbender, 2 types of armpit vent holes were possible on the 'Coat, Parachute, Jumper, stiched holes or metal rivets. Maybe the person asking is thinking that he might be able to put a more specific manufacturing year on your jacket, judging by the type of armpit grommets installed. I have been informed that there is actually no way of figuring this out, because the materials used for the manufacturing were based on what was at hand at the time of manufacturing. I wouldnt know why he would ask how many vent holes there are under each armpit. Mine has 4 under each armpit. I have not seen jackets with less or more ventholes. Jeeper704 Posted July 31, 2007 Share #4 Posted July 31, 2007 On both of my M42s (my old colelction), there were 4 and also stitched. One jacket was id-ed, the other dated. Erwin
