Image in this post is gummed stamp number 70 from one of the Hearst insignia stamp albums. The accompanying text read:

 

“Fully equipped as a motorized unit, it is capable of ‘blitz’ tactics and may operate in advance of its own supporting artillery through use of trucks, command cars, radio cars and jeeps. Its striking force is augmented by the newest type of anti tank guns, already put to use with such effective results by General MacArthur’s magnificent defenders at Bataan.

 

“When stationed at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, the 609th Tank Destroyer Battalion received its insignia from Walt Disney. Offspring of one of the most feared members of the animal kingdom, this tiger cub is gloweringly concerned with the business of putting a miniature tank out of commission.”
