Although not a true military uniform, this ranks as my favorite piece. This child's uniform is scarce, but to know the name of the boy who wore it and have a photo of him in it must put it in the realm of one-of-a-kind!

This child's Army Air Corps uniform with winged propeller buttons and pseudo pilot "wings" [and decorative Army Service Forces patch] belonged to Richard Wolthuis of Fostoria, Iowa, and was given to him Christmas of 1943 by his grandfather. Richard wore it only on special occasions because the wool made him itch! Later, his mother added a cotton lining and suspenders to the trousers. The photo of Richard proudly posed in his new uniform was taken when he was three years old.

Chris what regiment was he in?,Would his family have any pictures that we could share?.

Cheers,

Dave.

Dave,
He was attached to HQ Company with the MOS "Scout". His diaries and records verify him doing recon for more than one regiment.

Although he is listed on the Service side of FSSF in their unit roster, I have photos as early as Helena (1942) of him in jump wings, and I have his general order for the CIB.

This particular vet disproves the absolute notion that service FSSF guys NEVER wore CIBs or Jump Wings, but that is due to his MOS (Scout/Recon).

If you go to my website www.rallypointmilitaria.com, I have this uniform exhibited with more photos.

---Chris

This 1st CAV with matching shirt is pretty neat too. The shirt is dated 1938.

Even though it was his previous unit this GI keep his DI's to the 17th CAV Recon. Both SSI have dog tag chain beading around the patches. I found the lighter in the pocket after I got it home. Nice extra.

Here is another from the Engineer Special Brigades. The 2nd class Diver Badge is interesting and certainly something you don't see every day.

Great Uniforms! Always fun to look at. Attached is one of my favorites as I like 101st/506th things. This is from Aurther Ruggia who was the Battalion Surgeon for the 907th Glider Infantry of the 101st. Of special interest is the rare "Bando type 8" 101st patch and the rare 907th DI. His ribbons are also the sew on variety.

I've owned this grouping for a long time and it's still one of my favorites. The items belongs to SEAL Team 1 Veteran Gary R. Smith. He did numerous tours in Vietnam with Seal Team 1, including one tour w/ PRU (Operation Phoenix). He has authored five books about his time spent as a SEAL in Vietnam, etc.

I believe it has to do with where they were stationed. I can't remember what Oise is, buit ADSEC is Advanced Section. I have a doctor's uniform with an ADSEC tab on it as well.
