Bob Hudson Posted May 26, 2010 Author Share #26 Posted May 26, 2010 WOW! Nice photos! Any more of USMC Advisors in Vietnam? There may be: the stack of Vietnam photos alone is about 4 inches high, and each time I go through it I see something new. I showed them to my wife tonight and she couldn't put them down: she wanted to go through all 300 or so. My shoulders are sore from all the scanning I did today, but in the morning I'll have the baby boomers breakfast of coffee and Ibuprofen and try to get some more done. Fly USMC Posted May 26, 2010 Share #27 Posted May 26, 2010 Marines and machines..... I believe these birds were part of squadron HMM-362 - Correct. The YL tail code is for 362 and they were using H-34 helicopter when they were an HMM squadron great Photos, any more With the YN Tail Code? marineamtracer Posted May 26, 2010 Share #31 Posted May 26, 2010 Like everyone has said these are amazing. I'm wondering if you may have any in that huge stack that were taken by Master Sgt. Jack Baird. He is a close friend and a wealth of Marine Corps history. Enlisted at age 15 and saw combat in Korea and by the time of Vietnam he had made his way to being a correspondent for Pacific Stars and Stripes. He did two tours in Vietnam as a Combat Combo Marine. A combat photog and writter. He has a book out now titled Combat Combo Marine. He's a really great guy and I'm honored to call him a friend. The book by the way is a compilation of his most popular work while at Pacific Stars and Stripes. Reading him it's easy to compare him to Ernie Pyle.
