Decorated Scabbards

An earlier post by Vonfatman primed me to dig out two of my favorite knives with decorated scabbards.Both are USMC marked.I had posted the Corpsmans knife once before.

The grey paint used for this scabbard appears to be a grey you would find on board ship(?)

Found a couple others.

 

This is a PAL/USMC marked one I purchased with a uniform from an Army Amphibious Engineer who served in the pacific

I always wonder what old army stuff would say if it could talk. Stuff like this does seem to speak a bit, love them.

Here is one more.This handmade knuckle was recently given to me.The blade is fairly thin and very flexible.Im guessing made from a saw.The scabbard is aluminum and leather.There is a island scene etched into the tip and then South West Pacific 1944 on the top.THe skull crusher is a .50 projectile soldered to a brass nut.

IIRC you picked up that hand painted tiger pattern MKII scabbard?

 

 

No,missed it when it was posted.

 

I left a pm inquiring if it was for sale prior to it being posted for sale but didnt recieve a response.
