jump wings and medic badge question

Recommended Posts

I have a set of jump wings I bought in a set that says HLP G.I. 1/20 S.F. Any ideas on era? And in the same set I bought a Army Medic badge with no markings on it. It is like it was gold or brass filled cause there is a gold tone showing through. Any ideas?

I would say your wings were Viet-Nam era and/or newer as the 1/20th SF(silver filled) badges are more modern.I would guess your badges have the clutch style fasteners opposed to the straight pin.Hope this helps.

Hint on takin pictures - do it in daylight.

Paratrooper is Korean War of later made by General Insignia (GI)

Medic could be WWII, a number of badges were made in brass and silver plated.

Thank you for your reference, the wings and badge were in a large group well fairly large group of stuff that belonged to a few guys wo were in the Naval Reserve in Korea and late WW2 and a Vietnam Marine Captain. There was also a set of subdued jump wings with them, I couldn't get a great picture of the back of the medics badge but hope this helps. If they are WW2 what are WW2 medic badges running retail?

I see the medic badges running from 35-65. but I don't really pay attention to them, so it might vary

Do you know when they quit using the pin backs? Oh yeah that reminds me I have a 2nd LT bar that is pin back any idea when they quit making them with pin backs? I see a lot of you guys's collections who have collected for a few years and cry cause I have collected for 8 and I am yet to achieve half the size, but I also live in a very rural area and I have the military market locked here, I have adds all over town for people to call me if they want to sell and stuff, but i still cry crying.gif , anyways thanks

1/20 markings usually means 1970's period. The CMB more then likely is from the late 60's to early 70's.
