I recently acquired a reinforced jump jacket that I am trying to research.

Based off the jacket, I can deduce the following:

1. The jacket is 82nd Airborne

2. The soldier was either a Lieutenant or possibly a Warrant Officer

3. The soldier's last name begins with an "H"

4. The last four digits of the soldiers Army Serial Number is "0608".

5. He was in a unit that jumped into Normandy (505TH, 507TH, 508TH...)

I know this is a needle in a haystack, but I feel this jacket merits exhausting all resources.

I am asking if anyone has copies of general orders or other paperwork that list a soldier with this partial ASN. I will make it worth your time if you find a name.

To see pics of this jacket and a full blog entry devoted to it, please check out

Thanks.

I concur with Leif, nice jacket. Post this data over on Mark Bando's Trigger Time Forum. Not just 101st fanatics visit there but airborne enthusiasts in general.

Kurt,

That's a good idea. I will do that. Thanks.
