USMC Pfc stripes?

I think these have to be USMC because of the 3.5" width, but I've never seen Marine stripes that color before. In the scan there seems to be a hint of green, but in natural light they're definitely brown. Does anyone know if they were made in that color? Could they simply be faded that bad?

Thanks,

John

I think it is Army rather than Marine for the khaki chino four pocket uniform jacket worn in tropical areas in the 1920-30s. The size is probably just poor quality control, it is not unusual at all to find Army strips that are 3 1/4 inches wide this may be just pushing it a little more.

I agree, these look Army to me and the exact size and color can vary somewhat from what the regs spelled out.
