Naval Reserve Midshipmen's yearbook

The Disney illustration in this post can be found in the January 1943 edition of Capstan, a 226 page hardcover yearbook published by the first graduating class of the U.S. Naval Reserve Midshipmen's School, at the University of Notre Dame in Indiana.

 

The book is similar to a high school yearbook and contains photos of all the graduates, as well as pictures of various on-campus activities the men engaged in.

 

The yearbook's introduction reads in part:

 

"This book attempts to record a series of impressions - the pictures, experiences and ideas of one thousand two hundred and fifty-two college men who duirng the past four months have labored to prepare themselves to take their places as officers in the Navy of the United States."
