disneydave Posted July 7, 2007 Share #1 Posted July 7, 2007 The item in this post is a decal featuring the insignia for West Coast Shipyard Workers. This design eas created by Disney artist Hank Porter in July 1945. The insignia features a beaver repairing ships. Against a background of cranes, the beaver says "I'm Busy, S.C.R.A.M." S.C.R.A.M. is an acronym for Ship Construction Repair and Maintenance." According to a newspaper article the Navy's Industrial Incentive Division said the design could be, "...placed on helmets, lunch boxes and windshields, or worn as a cloth shoulder patch similar to the combat insignia worn by fighting men on the front." jpstout Posted June 21, 2015 Share #4 Posted June 21, 2015 I like the toolbox, it is always neat to see the decals used on vintage items. Thanks for posting.
Airborne-Hunter Posted March 14, 2021 Share #5 Posted March 14, 2021 A few months back I ran across a decal just like the OP and today running around the flea market I found the one on the left below. The design is the same, but the colors are different and the left one is slightly smaller the the one on the right. The backs are different.
