I just acquired the photo on the left as a companion piece to the one on the right. Just picture them in a trench. Two can't see over the top, while the other two wish it was deeper!

What are the chances you'd be able to find two similar photos - brothers where one is taller, one arm oustretched, taken by what are probably their homes and arms oustrecthed opposite to what the other is? Weird.

This is actually a fairly common theme in WW1 photgraphs the; "Tallest/Shortest in the unit" photo. In fact if you look in Dressed for Duty Vol 2 (Smith) there is even a "Tallest/Shortest" picture of two Yeomanettes from WW1.

 

They are always neat, and for photograph collectors a great subject matter.

The pictures are very interesting...I just think it's bizarre that you had the same idea going on with those who were waging war against each other. Definitely a neat pairing!
