siege1863 Posted July 2, 2007 Share #1 Posted July 2, 2007 I just acquired the photo on the left as a companion piece to the one on the right. Just picture them in a trench. Two can't see over the top, while the other two wish it was deeper!
disneydave Posted July 3, 2007 Share #2 Posted July 3, 2007 What are the chances you'd be able to find two similar photos - brothers where one is taller, one arm oustretched, taken by what are probably their homes and arms oustrecthed opposite to what the other is? Weird.
cwnorma Posted July 3, 2007 Share #3 Posted July 3, 2007 disneydave, This is actually a fairly common theme in WW1 photgraphs the; "Tallest/Shortest in the unit" photo. In fact if you look in Dressed for Duty Vol 2 (Smith) there is even a "Tallest/Shortest" picture of two Yeomanettes from WW1. They are always neat, and for photograph collectors a great subject matter. disneydave Posted July 3, 2007 Share #4 Posted July 3, 2007 The pictures are very interesting...I just think it's bizarre that you had the same idea going on with those who were waging war against each other. Definitely a neat pairing!
