M1 Carbine Magazines, Did 30 Round Mags exist in WWII?

Did they use M1 Carbine 30rnd mags in WWII?

According to War Baby Comes Home, about 8500 were produced by April 1945 for testing and they were then later released for use. So, it would have been later in 1945 until they saw combat use. There are probably some folks with more expertise to give you a better idea on the timeline.
