US Marine Corp LVTP5 vehicles being tested 1953

These are two photos from a confidential record put together by the late Lt Col William C. Stoll Jr on the testing of the LVTP-5 amphibious vehicle. The record includes documents and about 50 related photos of the testing of the vehicle in August of 1953 at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. During this time Col Stoll was commander of the 2nd Amphibious Tractor Battalion, which tested about 9 of the vehicles in various roles and configurations.
