Lucky72 Posted February 1, 2010 Share #1 Posted February 1, 2010 Aquired an awesome 115th Liaison Photographers grouping. He was General Daidson's of the 10th AF photographer at one point, he was also in the 1st Air Comando Group. He wore a 43 field jacket with Chit on the back and silk Official Army Photographer patch on the shoulder tab. All the patches are theater made except for a few. I even have his camera that he used on ground and in a L-5. There were 3 photo albums one in China, Burma and India, there are probably over 300 photos in each along with atleast 2,000 loose photos. The bad thing is they were damaged in a flood!!! I almost cried when I saw it. There are pictures of Japanese P.O.W. camps, P-38s putting down smoke screens, L-5s, Japs surrendering their swords, Cargo plains unloading horses, temples etc. I have three fruit boxes FULL of scrapbook pages and prob 100 bundles of photos stuck together. There are maybe 50-100 pics that are saved. Notice the one picture of the Air Jungle Rescue Squadron in front of the HQ tent. If anyone has ideas about how to separate the stuck photos PLEASE let me know I will be very thankful. Most of the stuck together photos are becaise of heat prob. Also in the grouping is two 16 mm film reals. The leather squadron patch is the 115th Liaison, it is a disney style crow flying holding a telescope and a camera with wings, it also came with the original art work on transparent paper and several proofs- the proofs have water damage. I also have over 500 letter written home to his wife some of which are very X-Rated and funny, he writes about being on and near the Ledo Road. Also unit histories and numerous books. Needless to say I have a lot of reading to do!!! Almost forgot the large chunk of Jade the is tagged from being found in Burma. MORE PICS ADDED!!! JDK Posted February 2, 2010 Share #9 Posted February 2, 2010 Nice grouping. It's a shame about the damaged pictures. At least you can properly preserve what is left. JD
doinworkinvans Posted December 16, 2014 Share #10 Posted December 16, 2014 What a sweet find - a super rare squadron patch there. And all those bullions are beautiful as well. Any more pics of the jacket?
Waltz41 Posted December 19, 2014 Share #11 Posted December 19, 2014 That is a really cool unique grouping. The camera is a neat item to have with it all....not to mention the squadron patch and CBI related patches, jacket, film reel, and paperwork. Congrats on picking it up!
