WWII THEATER MADE COMBAT KNIFE

As promised from a previous post, I thought that I would post this for everyone to see, and to comment on. This was made from a WWII M-4 bayonet. It has the initials "NC" carved near the pommel. I had actually rescued this from a "knife collector" who was going to polish this up on the wheel, clean the brass, and sharpen it. It was a good feeling to have saved this from - "death". I just wiped it down with some oil, and put it in the knife drawer.

Nicely made.

I am looking for such type for my 4th Armored crewmember.

I have seen a photo somehere where you see such a type of knife sticking out of his leggings (he was not 4th AD though).

Thanks Erwin!

I'd love to see that picture. If you happen to run across it, please post.

Hmmm - I sense the start of a good topic! I'd like to see how many pictures people can come up with. I wish that I had one to contribute! Your example is a very nice illustration of a theater made knife. Thanks gunbarrel!

Chris,

Glad you liked it. You might find this one interesting else. It's a GI's advertisement for his theater knives!
