Got it as well...an interesting perspective on that time.

I have talked to a few Canadian Vietnam veterans...their observations were similar to what was portrayed in this movie.

Great film. I saw it many years ago. Though there's one part of the film that sticks in my mind. In a scene where the main characters encounter some American G.I.s in a bar the Americans are wearing the collar discs from the Class A uniform on their jungle fatiques.

The Odd Angry Shot, is one of the only films that show the Australians in Vietnam. Just a note, The film did not represent our main infantry, but our special forces group, the SAS. Overall it does a really good job of portraying what they Aussies were like over there, professional in the field, and larakins on base.
