I picked up this map case today, along with some leggings and a Vietnam era mortar box (which these photos are taken against).

It's in great condition, marked Boyt -43- on the back, and comes with the original grids with covers.

Anyone know a value for this? I can't find any on ebay or anything to get an idea.

Thanks!
Adam

adam townsend, hi that appears to be in very nice condition, its hard to value as all this military stuff has different values on different continents.

However you appear to have two sets of grids when they were only issued with one set. So you should be able to sell off one of the sets and off-set against what you actually paid for the despatch case.

Adam,

I've sold these in the past for $35 to $50, without the grids. Nice find!

There's an online dealer selling reproductions for $100 - without the grids. A 1941 Boyt case with grid just sold on ebay for $76. These M1938 Dispatch Cases were used certainly into the 1960's, but by then they were olive green.
