CNY Militaria

So I was at the Mohawk-Arms Militaria auction today when I had the realization early on that I am too cheap to get anything there. So I went to the antique store next door and left with these Armored and TD Items (funny how I only find things that I don't collect, haha). A 1st Armored CPL shirt, Pacific Theater TD Group with jacket, shirt, and pants, and a cool Trains HQ Co (1st AD) Souvenier Box (ignore the items inside, I got those today as well.)

The MP Belt is named on every piece and is for a left handed soldier. I need a buckle and holster for it still to complete it!

Also forgot to mention...this guy had LOW prices, and I had to leave for fear of buying him out (he has a LOT more there). I saw some nice armor patches, for $5 a piece as well, but passed on them. And if anyone is a German collector, that was the store to be in!

Also, since I am not "current" on TD items, What is a fair value for the TD Uniform Group it if I may ask? I am wondering if I overpaid or not...

Thanks!

Depends on condition of the group, dates, id-ed, etc.

Was there a patch on the left shoulder?

Now you made me curious on how much you paid it.

It is an interesting group though.

Value? How about 3 kisses from my gf?

I think if you add the value the several pieces are worth, you have a pretty good idea on how much these sets would go.

Unfortnately, Its not ID'd nor is there a tag in the pocket, but everything is in near mint condition. Sizes are about a 37R, so no "added value" due to size. I don't see remnants of a patch on the left shoulder...my guess is that he wanted to show that he was a combat vet as was done when srervicemen went home with the same unit they served overseas with.

Got da Penny

Nice Haul, I really like the TD stuff. personally.

It kinda funny that Mohawk didnt go next door to buy all the militaria and then auction it off..??

Oh well, your Luck..!! :D

One would think with the suctioneer and a room full of collectors, at least one (besides me) would go 50 feet to the left and check the store out! Thanks!

I guess I was too busy wandering the show to have gone in and grab these! Geez - am I a little Jealous!! (HAHA) I've always wanted a TD uniform, and that is just a nice, nice uniform! (Love the arrow head!) Good finds! I will show everyone what I had found at the show. My PC broke down, and so I had to have it wiped. I need to re-locate my camera software, so I can post some pics.

For those that have not met justin - he's a great guy! He has integrity on the board, as well as in person!

As far as Mohawk Arms is concerned - he does charge a hefy premium! There are good deals to be found. Since it is all sold on consignment, (Most of it) the vendor sets the opening bid. I won the 4th Marine Div. uniform, with premium, it comes to $47.00. The way these things are going, that was a fair price. On the other hand, I remember he had an 82nd troopers grouping, with two M42's, pants, and other odd's and ends. Price? A light $16,500 (Plus premium). (It'll lighten your wallet at least)

ALSO - I love the box. That flower is Edelweisse - the sacred flower of Deutchland. The SS and Fallschirmjager (Para's) liked to wear these on their hats. I believe that there is a German marching tune called, "Edelweisse". Obviously reflecting the 1st's service in Germany. If you ever want to sell, please let me know.

Mohawk arms prices just scared me too much, and I wasn't a fan of how slow it was going, but they do that to allow the most money making opportunities. Everything I got in that store I got with the intention of reselling, except the small German insignia. When I got home, I decided the box was too cool to get rid of. I think I might fill it with loose insignia or something (haven't decided yet). Anyways, its a nice display piece. I wasn't sure if that was an edelweisse, but figured it probably wouldn't be anything else.

PS: Having met Chris this weekend, I can also say he is a true collector and great guy! Glad to have met you!
