This is a great thread!! Here is a Christmas card that my Grandfather sent home. It isn't dated, but he would have been in AAF for Christmas of 1941 through 1944. I was lucky enough to find it in an old trunk at the family farm (thus the water stains and mold). Enjoy.

'Tis the season, here are a few more. First is from the USS Wasp, circa mid-'50's, the second is from the 9th Bomb Division, 9th AF. Enjoy, Mark.

I have really enjoyed this thread!! These two came from my Great Uncle,
Ed Wolking. He had the glamorous job of an Army cook!! Cards both printed
in Paris "44".

This card was sent to me in the early 90's during Desert Shield / Desert Storm. He is a high school class mate of mine. He is still in the NE National Guard last I knew.

This is a pre-war card from China, undated, but I believe it to be from mid-1930s.

This is another China Station card but dated December 1945. Notice the language is almost the same as on the pre-war 4th Marines card. Wonder if this was "old stock" they just brought up from the basement?

Here's a 1934 Christmas Card/Menu/Roster souvenir from the Marine Detachment, American Legation, Peiping, China. In addition to what's shown here it also contains a complete Roster of the Detachment enlisted men (not shown) The Menu show that they were well-fed! In the 1st Lt officer section note that David Shoup, MOH recipient at Tarawa and future Commandant and Evans Carlson Marine Raider were in the Det.

That Korean propaganda card is a scarce one! They also printed a similar card for use of the American POW's to send home.
