USMC1371 Posted October 26, 2009 Share #73 Posted October 26, 2009 This grouping is karma, you got paid back for a good deed! If you hadn't got in touch with the executor of the estate this would have went at an estate sale, which is trench warfare. From there it would have been piece by piece sold on Ebay by possibly multiple antique dealers that sell glassware and junk like that. It's together the way it should be. What an awesome find! sgtwamp Posted October 31, 2009 Author Share #74 Posted October 31, 2009 Sorry I havn't posted any picturres in awhile, been busy with work and two teenage boys. I did find some more patches in one of the front pockets, I thought my wife checked them but she didn't. Inside were a clutchback hollow stamped MP collar brass, 2 17th Airborne patches, a 13th Airborne patch, and a 101st Airborne patch with a white tongue on the eagle. I went to Mark Bando's website and it looks like a type 5. It was in an album at one time because there is black paper residue on the back. I also noticed that the box all this stuff was packed in is an old ration box. Hopefully I'll be able to post pics tomorrow.
