Bobby R. Posted October 4, 2009 Author Share #2 Posted October 4, 2009 Beamsley is 2nd from right, front row with the folding stock. This was part of a large group of material I found of his at a Pasadena swap meet years ago. I believe one of the moderators of this forum ended up with most of the stuff sans a few images. I believe this image was published in a book before.

zephead Posted October 26, 2009 Share #5 Posted October 26, 2009 This is the first time I've seen a period pic with 101st DUI's being warn on the shoulder, or anywhere else besides a cap or a scarf for that matter. Great Pic! Interesting how he is wearing his lanyard, wonder whats to stop it from sliding down his sleeve. Any idea what regiment he was in? Judging from the M41's some of the troops are wearing I would guess a glider regiment. Could the oval possibly be 327th?
Johan Willaert Posted October 26, 2009 Share #6 Posted October 26, 2009 That picture was taken by the 501PIR photographer Al Krochka... Except for a couple of M41s, all are wearing full jump gear... Picture is on the cover of Mark Bando's 7th book....
ww1collector Posted February 26, 2010 Share #7 Posted February 26, 2010 Just spotted this-I have one of his uniforms and pile of paper and pictures including a short memoir he wrote along with swatches of his camo parachutes. He jumped about 1AM on D Day and jumped in Market Garden, but immediately came down with menangitis and was sent home. Dave
