Brig Posted May 8, 2007 Share #1 Posted May 8, 2007 here are 4 ribbon bars in my collection. NONE of these glow anywhere the first bar I have no issues with. it's a Pre-WWI USMC bar with Good Conduct, Mexican Campaign, and what's the third? I got this from Mr Jerry. it's mounted on a nice metal backing with a weird device on the pin. anyone know what the device is? of the blue ribbon with red stripes? it's stitched with red thread. I know it's 100% original second bar. WWII USMC containing a Navy Cross, Purple Heart, and Good conduct. mounted on thin metal with no slasp on the pin, so I'm guessing late war. stitched with white thread. put together? third bar. WWI Marine with Good Conduct Medal, Yangtze Service, WWI victory with 4 bronze stars representing bars on the medal and a silver star representing a silver star citation, I believe, and finally a Mexican Campaign ribbon. are these even in the right order? they're mounted on cardboard, never worn it seems, and stitched with black thread. put together or not? fourth bar, an Army-sized Marine Good Conduct and what's the second one? I believe it's for a WWI victory with the colors of every nation?? what medal exactly? mounted on metal with a pin longer than the mount. I think it's 100% good
jim2 Posted May 8, 2007 Share #2 Posted May 8, 2007 the 1st bar 3rd ribbon is for the hatian campaign 1919-1920. I believe the device on the back of the pin is normally found on civilian hat pins. the 3rd bar is out of order. it should go good conduct, mexican service, WWI, & yangtze service.(I have many period ribbon bars that are not in order) The last pin I believe that was some sort of WWI commeritive medal that was to represent all the nations involved in the great war. Nice finds. I believe that they are all original, just my 2 cents.

USMCR79 Posted June 20, 2007 Share #7 Posted June 20, 2007 doesn't anyone know what the multi-colored ribbon is on the 2 piece WWI bar? Brig, I have seen it called "WWI Commerative" with no associated medal, given by an unknown orginization. However, I have a WWI Manchester Ct. medal that has this ribbon as "original" Bill
