I'm getting a little "photo happy" My apologies for loading up the forum with these, but I find them fascinating. I've had for a while and been meaning to post them.

This is a series of 4x6 Signal Corps photos taken of Co. M of the 328th Infantry Regt., 26th Division during combat in Saarlautern, Germany.

First, a couple of Machine gunners covering their buddies on a main street in Saaarlautern

Next, a wide shot of the street with troops moving up

They appear to be ammo carriers

Next is a cool shot of a medic moving up the street towards the advancing troops

Note the wounded infantryman lying facedown in the middle of the street

The medic reaches him, patches him up, and begins helping him back

Same day (March 3), another part of town. Two infantrymen dash up another Saarlautern street

They look unprotected, but four other soldiers, hidden in the rubble, are covering them.

I don't think apologies are in order here!! I for one love to see these pictures, I think they provide amazing insight and prove the amazing bravery of these men. Not just the soldiers but the photographers also!!!

Nice one!

Great photos! Got any more?

Not from this series, but I have a whole bunch more of Signal Corps ETO photos. The problem is that the process of scanning, resizing and posting is so time consuming that I have to psych myself up to do it. I'll throw some more on.

Thanks Guys.

Jim- I'll add some armor later on.

Keeping with the 26th Division theme, here are two Battle of the Bulge photos, one of prisoners being marched to the rear by 328th Infantrymen (Jan 11, 1945), another of a squad of the 104th Regiment hurrying across a bridge in Luxembourg (Jan 21, 1945)

Next are some unid'd tankers standing near German graves somewhere in the Ardennes. Under magnification I can read the names of the dead German soldiers and date of death (many were killed on 1/6/45)

Finally, two large format (8x10) Signal Corps photos.

First is a group of 83rd Infantry Division soldiers who just came off the line near Argentan, France (around the time of the closing of the Falaise Gap) in August 1944.

94th Division medics receiving wounded German prisoners, February 10, 1945

Fantastic! Got any more 94th shots (especially 94th medics!)? Thanks for posting these!

BTW, this is a fairly rare image as the 94th stopped taking prisoners for a long while. This earned them the nickname of "Roosevelt's Bloody Butchers".

Beast-

I will look for more 94th photos. As I know you are aware, the 94th at this time had just finished that awful series of fights in the Saar-Moselle Triangle, so you are correct, they were in no mood to take prisoners.
