M60 Driver Posted August 5, 2009 Share #1 Posted August 5, 2009 I found this one in a box filled with fairly generic current EG&As. I am no expert on EG&As, but I have never seen one with these very thin horizontal line running around the globe. The device is a clutch-back style pin and there are no makers marks. Any thoughts as to era?
teufelhunde.ret Posted August 5, 2009 Share #2 Posted August 5, 2009 As a clutchback it dates to the Korean era and after... its design roots are in a very similiar emblem dating to the 20's, those were of Meyer design. s/f Darrell

teufelhunde.ret Posted August 6, 2009 Share #5 Posted August 6, 2009 Is this the same back? This is from the thread at... FS - The one he is likely trying to ID is pictured here. The one in you post is likley the first generation of this design as it is a pinback with "c" clip and would have been worn on very early 1920's EM jackets that were not prepared for screwbacks and WW1 tunic's with roll collar conversions. teufelhunde.ret Posted August 6, 2009 Share #6 Posted August 6, 2009 Most collectors agree, these were likely produced in very late 20's or 1930 to coincide with the introduction of the enlisted Gooney's
