I think the display cases for the WWII items are great are they home made or purchased?
Regards,
John

Hey John;
All the cases were built on the rumpus room floor which became the main display area.
The stock was cut and router'd outside then hauled into the basement then assembled, and finished.
I built a jig to get the tops square, which worked great...except the first time I accidentally nailed and glued half a top to the jig.
As I tried to pull it off...I stood there thinking...."That was reeeeaalllly dumb...shorter brads and less glue next time"...it only happened once.

Hey guys...I really appreciate all your comments...it gives me the motivation to have more tours...thanks ever so much!!!

I can only echo what the others have said, just excellent. Thanks for the peek at that great collection, it's better than a lot of museums.

Wow Alonzo! What an amazing display room! Where in Canada are you located? I'm in B.C. but I would travel the length of this great country of ours to visit your "mini" museum....

Congrats and thanks for sharing it with us,

Regards,

Rick

I have posted a few rare things in the past this is one of them;
http://www.usmilitar...=postal express
I do have a soft spot for A-2 jackets and you will see in the photos "Lady Fortune" and "Our Achin' Lass", both a featured in the book on painted flight jackets. I really don't have a favorite, as the other uniforms would get jealous if I said I liked one more than the rest. :rolleyes:

Fantastic museum, it is clear that every detail has been well thought out, some great items. My favourite so far is the "latest additions" the Siberian and North Russia coats and that 339th helmet is superb.

Great stuff! I love the 339th helmet. Here is a shot of a 339th vet with his own "museum":

This is a nicer and more professional display than I have seen at a lot of museums. You could teach those guys a thing or two about how to do it!

Thanks for sharing!
