Hey guys,

This was a flea market find about eight years ago. Theodore Stamirowski appears to have been a first generation American. He went into combat with Co L 407th as a replacement and was killed his first day at the front Nov. 30th 1944 along the Siegfried Line. Most of the letters in the box are to and from his sister. A vast majority of them being written in Polish. Amazingly I happened to run across a web page today that tells exactly how Stamirowski was killed. I'll put a link to it here at the end if anyone is interested. Anyway very sad to find these memories for sale at a flea market of all places. Ted's sister kept in very close contact with a family in Margraten until at least the 1960's. The family wrote her regulary and looked after Ted's grave. Enclosed are also letters from them.

Would be great if someone here could translate those documents. But translated or not, it is a nice find. :) Thanks for sharing!

I agree, I'd love to have them translated some day. But none the less they found a good home and I'm happy to have them in my collection.
