M1970 Posted July 18, 2008 Share #59 Posted July 18, 2008 Hi, i'm new to the Forum and like to show my 29th Helmet. This helmet belonged to Roger J. McDonough. He was a Naval Gunfire Spotter in Battery C 111th FA and then assigned to the 293d Joint Assault Signal Co. In Oct 44 the 293d JASCO was transfered from ETO to the Pacific theatre. Hope i'll find once the time to get more infos about the 293d JASCO and hopefully about R.J. McDonough too.
Johan Willaert Posted December 7, 2008 Share #60 Posted December 7, 2008 Another 29th item from my collection; this time an unidentified first pattern Field Jacket (aka M1938 Parson's) from a Major of the 29th. Shoulderstraps were added to the jacket. The 115th crossed rifles are just for the display, I have no proof of a 115th connection to this jacket... Enjoy, JOhan
Johan Willaert Posted December 7, 2008 Share #61 Posted December 7, 2008 A Westinghouse M1 Helmet liner with painted 29th Insignia and Screwback Lt bar. The LT bar doesn't pos a problem to slide a shell over the liner... No history on this one... And a relic liner from the ETO Campaign. As so many 29th liners found in the ETO, it's an early model, in this case an Inland with HBT webbing and provisions to snap-in a rayon headband. I was never able to find something on the GI; all I have is a laundry code C63?3 Any ideas Yannick??? Enjoy, Johan
General Apathy Posted December 7, 2008 Share #62 Posted December 7, 2008 Hi 29th Posters, here is a hand sewn pillow case cover made in the image of ' Betty Boo ' wearing uniform with a 29th patch on her cap, however she has the patch reversed color. Hi Johan, I read this post today and I was really finding it hard to remember the name on that 29th musette I have, ( you remember the one you talked about trading your wife for. ) I don't have it to hand it's packed away I think it was ' Bussard ' or something like that, do you recall. Cheers ( Lewis )
Johan Willaert Posted December 7, 2008 Share #63 Posted December 7, 2008 Hi Ken, Sorry, but I can't remember we ever talked about the name on the musette. I only know it was ID'd to a 29'er. Cheers, Johan

Kration Great Photo, K. I have one like that of I Co., 116th Inf. Regiment. Seems that these photos were all taken in July '41, and all in their Khaki's. G Co., 115th was from Cumberland, Maryland if memory serves me...the old Armory building is still there, quite an impressive place.

David D Posted July 27, 2014 Share #70 Posted July 27, 2014 Great thread! I thought it should be brought back to the top. Here is a V-Mail grouping to Pfc. Bernard L. Olliff of How company 175th, he was wounded on July 13th during the drive towards St. Lo. Squad leader Posted August 20, 2015 Share #73 Posted August 20, 2015 My only 29th item, an English-made tunic with Liaison pilot wing, unfortunately un-named. I bought this one about 15 years ago and still love it. Mark. attachmentattachment Mark, Is there any ASN or laundry # on your jacket? I have names of several liaison pilots from the 29th ID. The place where you bought the jacket can be a clue as well. Dan.
