SARGE Posted April 19, 2007 Share #1 Posted April 19, 2007 Here is an interesting GAR Reunion soldier cutout showing an armed Civil War Union Soldier in a frock coat and cap with his musket. This soldier is painted onto pressboard and seems to have been used as a welcome decoration. Notice the size of the soldier in comparison to the electrical socket next to it. This is the only one of these soldiers that I have ever seen.
SARGE Posted April 19, 2007 Author Share #2 Posted April 19, 2007 Closeup view of the soldier's chest showing the 1932 welcome message. The lettering is done in gold leaf which has faded somewhat with time. The artwork on the soldier is outstanding.
