HMH-361 was my first fleet squadron so I have picked up a few variations along the way. Always interested in other variations of original period patches.

The first lot is from HMM-361 when they flew H-34s early to mid Vietnam

The top right from the OIF-OEF scan....It shares the same "lion/griffin" (except yours looks more like a tiger) as several of the Australian units in Iraq...Is there any coincidence?

The "animal" is described as "a human-head winged bull of Mesopotamia". The design appears on many different miltiary embelms coming out of the Iraq war. It is in the center of the Multinational Force Iraq patch and crest, as well as on the British Iraq Campaign medal.
