My Eagles Nest holds all my post WW2 101st patches, the left side has subdued and DCU and color US made Eagles. The right side has mostly theater made ACU and DCU patches.

Awesome collection of 101st stuff. Pretty sure my work made some patches, hats and tshirts with similar designs to the bottom left patches. It was one of the units that flew AUSSF around. Gunfighters, pistoleros or something similar. Could you post a close up pick of the bottom left patches if you have time?
Cheers

Last fall I had to pack up my war room, and we moved in November and my stuff has been packed up since. This past Friday I was able to finish the build of the new war room. Looking forward to unpacking it all and setting up the war room part Deux. Here's a preview of the new space which includes a room specifically for my WWI Air Service collection. It's been fun building it how I want it. Hope you enjoy it Paul

Well, it's not a room ... it's an apartment

Looking forward to seeing your whole collection transfered and displayed.

Here's is the uniform of Captain Elmer H aslett, who was an observer in the 1st and 12th Aero, it has been along time restoration which culminated with the addition of the 12th aero squadron pin. Highly decorated flyer who was one of the first over the front flying with the French. He became a go to observer, he earned his DSC while flying an infantry contact mission in deplorable conditions. During the flight his ship was jumped by 4 Fokker D-7s. During the gun battle, his guns jammed,he fired a flare pistol which drove the Germans away. He used the flare cartridge to clear the jam and succeeded in shooting down one Fokker, and driving the rest away. During a later mission he was shot down and became a POW. After the armistice, he became Gen. Mitchell's Aide De Camp.

Here's a better shot of the 90th aero wall. Uniforms on the display case both from the 90th, flight suit is the typical kind worn by observation and bombing flyers. The uniforms on the far right are enlisted 91st aero and 8th aero observer.

Built boxes for my torso forms to sit on, lifting the uniforms a bit. Here's a better shot of the enlisted 91st aero, and the 8th aero observer. On the wall is a grouping from another 91st enlisted man, plus the French citation for the Croix De Guerre for the squadron. A 24th aero observer grouping with squadron pin and wings. Some 8th aero related photos and a trench art prop tip. Hope you enjoy. Paulimage.jpg

Here's a better view of the flight suit. This is the typical issue suit used by observation and bombing flyers. There are Bass Co. mukluk boots, shooting mittens, Luxor No. 7 goggles, and a French made flight helmet from a 96th aero officer. Hope you enjoy Paul
