Great additions to your collection, Bill! Here's one that was on eBay a few weeks ago:

Unfortunately, I was not the high bidder. As I recall this went for ~$200.

That is really unusual. Any idea when and where this one was made?

Hi Jim --

As I recall from the listing it was made recently (within the last year or so) in Kabul, Afghanistan. The blue background is actually lapis lazuli stone.

C6A

These were made in 2016 in Kabul. Some soldiers had them made, I believe a second batch was also made and brought back to be sold - these are what are popping up now.

Here's a thread about the first batch http://www.usmilitariaforum.com/forums/index.php?/topic/258951-afghanistan-theater-made-cib/?hl=%2Bkabul+%2Bcib

Here are a few of my recent finds. First up are two interesting cloth badges. These were originally sewn on with blue thread, which is the first time I've seen this done. These are both German made I believe - 1960's-ish.

Here's a nice example of a typical Vietnamese sand-cast badge. A Silverman Brothers badge was used to make the cast for this badge, " STERLING SB " is just barely visible on the back.

I'm working getting some Afghan CIBs made, no estimate on time yet but once I get figure out pricing and batch quantity, I'll sell them for a reasonable price...the goal is much less than $200+, I'm not trying to price gouge my fellow collectors and current/former service members...

Backs..

Some great CIBs there, Bob. I think those unmarked Assman badges are especially nice.

MilRGRHistory, we're 'standing by' whenever you're ready. Thanks!

Does anyone have any thoughts about this one? German-made occupation piece?

The back is unmarked and the clutches appear to be some type of plastic material. Here's a pic of the front. I'll post a pic of the back once it's received. I'm curious if anyone has seen a similar badge and knows of it's origin.

Thanks!

Rick

Looks like a cast of a Gemsco, can you post a picture of the back?

The wreath looks similar to a Gemsco minus the acorns. Once I receive the badge I'll post a picture of the back.

I found this picture in a box showing the CIB/EIB from my collection. It must be 25 years ago. I only made pictures of the front of my collection, so I can't show the reverse. Traded or sold sometimes.

Over the years I've had an interest in embroidered CIBs & EIBs.

For a starter here are some with award ribbons.
