thickice Posted January 23, 2009 Share #54 Posted January 23, 2009 Sometimes a soldier just made his own, I bought this at a gun show in NC, and was able to trace it to the original owner. The knife is a cut down GI machette, the sheath is really interesting, consider this was made "in country" in'66. There are 2 pieces of red plastic, sandwiched between a piece of leather and some camo-utilities material. It's all sewed together with a boot lace, the hanger and safety strap is made out of nylon webbing and fastened with pop rivits. Does it remind you of any modern knives?
