scotty1418 Posted March 29, 2020 Share #1 Posted March 29, 2020 Another piece I obtained out of an old collection. The manufacture/variant here seems quite different from anything else I can find? Maybe KW era? A more rare example? Thanks in advance!
tredhed2 Posted March 29, 2020 Share #2 Posted March 29, 2020 2nd CMB inactivated in Germany Jul 46, reactivated Feb 49. Served in KW. Many variants of the battalion patch exist. This one looks more German made than US, as German patch manufacturers cranked out WW II unit insignia (for inactive units) until the mid-50s, perhaps lagter for some units. This is definitely not JM or KM.
BILL THE PATCH Posted March 29, 2020 Share #3 Posted March 29, 2020 When it says large how large?, Looks like a jacket patch for the back. Is it really big? Sent from my moto g(7) play using Tapatalk
tredhed2 Posted March 29, 2020 Share #4 Posted March 29, 2020 Most 2nd CMB patches in this shape are really small - about 2 1/2" x 2"... by the size of the font on the typing, this might be an inch larger each direction.
BILL THE PATCH Posted March 29, 2020 Share #5 Posted March 29, 2020 Thank you, couldn't tell from the sz. Never saw one on twill. Only Italian made ones. Sent from my moto g(7) play using Tapatalk
scotty1418 Posted March 30, 2020 Author Share #6 Posted March 30, 2020 Hello, Thanks for the comments. The descriptions on back were from the original collector back in the 50s/60s. It's about 2.6x3 inches. Thanks

tredhed2 Posted March 30, 2020 Share #8 Posted March 30, 2020 Almost looks like a Cheap Charlie to me Not a VN made patch by any means.
MilitaryPicker1941 Posted March 30, 2020 Share #9 Posted March 30, 2020 Is there somewhere I can find more examples of German made patches constructed like this? To me the backing looks like it shares lots of similarities between Vietnamese made patches like this one
vintageproductions Posted March 31, 2020 Share #10 Posted March 31, 2020 There is a difference, not just in the backing but the thread used.
