easterneagle87 Posted March 16, 2020 Share #1 Posted March 16, 2020 Saw this posted and want some opinions. I already sent it to Bob Schwartz and he couldn't pin it down as good or bad, so now it goes to the floor, Here's what Bob sent me: That’s the Link pattern badge. I can’t say I’ve seen that hallmark before but I am very far from an expert on these. I don’t feel comfortable giving a thumbs up or down on this badge. Just don’t have enough info on it to give you a confident call. Airship wing that has been turned into a bracelet. The markers mark looks like "B Hoover" I can't really read it from the provided pictures so I took a swag. So what's the consensus...

rathbonemuseum.com Posted March 16, 2020 Share #5 Posted March 16, 2020 It's a Link style wing. Hard to tell from the photos. I would think the hallmark is from a jeweler who resold it, not the maker.
easterneagle87 Posted March 17, 2020 Author Share #6 Posted March 17, 2020 Link style, so is that a maker or jst the style of wing. So, it's good? Sucks in a bracelet form
pfrost Posted March 17, 2020 Share #7 Posted March 17, 2020 It is hard to know based on the pictures, but I cannot say I feel warm fuzzy thoughts about this one. The gentlemen who pointed out the Link/Amcraft connection of these wings are correct. However, there are a LOT of fakes that were made and sold out of Florida (IIRC). Correct me if I am wrong about that. These fakes look a LOT like the Link/Amcraft wings, but have a more clunky/blocky appearance when you study them. They also show up with a variety of fantasy hallmarks. To me, these wings look like the fake ones, but just have been made into a bracelet. Compare these two wings and you can start to see the differences. One "tell" is that end of the wing tips are more squared off on the fakes. Also on the fakes, the little scalloped edges along the bottom of the wing are indented on the real one and more flat on the fakes. P

pfrost Posted March 17, 2020 Share #9 Posted March 17, 2020 Compare the gondola (size, shape and number of windows), shroud lines and how the connect, upper feathers and dimension of the shoulder, dimension of the airship. Even with the bad photos, it does seem to be the fake version.
Capt.Case Posted March 20, 2020 Share #10 Posted March 20, 2020 Hello guys, been reading this post and would like to share a set of airship wings I picked up about 20 years ago. They are marked on the back " Pasquale & Co. " and also " sterling ". Wondering if anyone has seen this mark? I appreciate any information. Thank You, Rocco
