Randy Posted March 14, 2020 Share #4 Posted March 14, 2020 5001st Supply Sq, Ladd AFB Alaska. Never saw a Japan one like this one before, most are US made. Nice for a supply unit though. Randy

AM65535 Posted March 20, 2021 Share #7 Posted March 20, 2021 My father designed this patch as part of a contest. I FINALLY found one (his was destroyed in a flood) but it looks very different from this one. I'd be very curious where this patch came from, because it's possible it is derived from his original sketches. It looks more his style than the official patch. Randy Posted March 21, 2021 Share #8 Posted March 21, 2021 The OP patch above was made in Japan. These were done by hand at the time. Therefore, the details differ from a US machine made patch, and really differ from patch to patch as they all had small detail variations from being handmade. It was cheaper to have them done there at the time. Her is a 1950s era US machine made one for comparison. Pretty neat your dad designed this, for a supply unit it is really neat.
