I bought at Flea Mkt today. When upper pack flap is closed USMC Boyt 43 is on closed side and can't be seen. Have you seen this before. Also lower pack is more of a tan than upper. Any comments? If all is OK what value should I tag it for kids to find when I go over yonder? I'm starting to save some USMC WWII to go with the earlier items. Thanks Richard

All the Boyt made packs are marked that way on the inside. Completely normal (: and bottom knapsack is a dept made riveted 1st pattern. Great pickups! As to difference in color, it varies from level of wear and makers. The knapsacks were usually stored on the ships while marines fought on land so they didnt get used as much.

I've tried to find a value to tag this with for the kids when I'm gone (with this virus and me 82 I guess might be sooner than I think ) Is $300.00 too much? Richard
