Corpl. Cleaver Posted March 4, 2020 Share #1 Posted March 4, 2020 Hey guys, Im looking for different styles and examples of labels from the 1 liter bottles that were sourced overseas during Desert Shield/Storm. Especially any examples that are scanned or in PDF format. Im also looking for examples of the issue chem-lights from the same era. Ive tried numerous searches both here and on google, and cant find anything good. Thanks!
MattS Posted March 4, 2020 Share #2 Posted March 4, 2020 I don't know about the water bottles (we might have some in our local museum display though), but I had some chem-lights up until recently. Ours came individually in civilian (not US marked with a NSN) wrappers. The foil package was black and neon green with one light inside. I don't know if they were an issue item in 1990-91 or not, but they were within a few years.

MattS Posted March 4, 2020 Share #4 Posted March 4, 2020 I think I tossed them, they were in a duffle bag in my garage that mice were living in. They look pretty much like the ones sold on Amazon, except I think the end was just a tab with a hole in it and not a hook. https://www.amazon.com/Cyalume-ChemLight-Military-Chemical-Sticks/dp/B0052ZAP6M This looks like the older style: https://www.selectsafetysales.com/p-532.aspx?searchEngineName=cyalume-6-chemlight-light-sticks-12-hour-8-hour-1010pks-100-lights-per-case Only color I ever saw was green which ironically could not be seen with NVGs. taucco Posted March 5, 2020 Share #5 Posted March 5, 2020 these were made by American Cyanamid Company. i'll take a look if they have NSN. Natick fielded insulation covers for water bottles, the basic picnic style you'll find in stores. DBDU camo, with shoulder strap and alice clips for belt, leg ties and cord closure around bottle neck. Inthink these are rare.

MattS Posted March 9, 2020 Share #7 Posted March 9, 2020 Those must be rare, I never saw anything like that before! Thanks for posting.
siege1863 Posted March 9, 2020 Share #8 Posted March 9, 2020 Not sure this is of any use to you. My best friend was with the 114th Military Police Company during Desert Shield/Desert Storm and sent home a number of items. This is part of a carton containing the bottled water they were issued. There is printing on two other sides if important.
