rufus_firefly Posted February 27, 2020 Share #1 Posted February 27, 2020 What do the letters stand for and when was this used. Any other information appreciated.
Allan H. Posted February 27, 2020 Share #2 Posted February 27, 2020 This is a really unusual piece and I have had two of them. What is odd is that it is not the size of normal collar brass. It is about 2/3 the size. I was told that it was Virginia ROTC brass. Maybe someone else has a better ID. Allan
tredhed2 Posted February 27, 2020 Share #3 Posted February 27, 2020 The V appears to be of a different size (height and thickness) than the As. Allan H may be on to something. There are JROTC units that use patches that are US Army designs but diff colors, and there are odd colored Ranger and Raider tabs worn by ROTC units. So why not collar brass? tredhed2 Posted February 28, 2020 Share #4 Posted February 28, 2020 I checked with an expert who collects AAA collar brass and his reply was sweetheart piece and the V stands for Victory. Sounds right, esp since they are smaller.
