Unknown red and green wool chevron...

Hello,
Just found this in a drawer and I have never seen another rate with stripes like this one....What could it be? It is old and wool on wool. Any help would be great. THANKS!!!!

My quick answer is that it does not seem to match the insignia shown for the CCC in old catalogs.

That said, it could be for some specialized function. It could also be for a state militia, military school or paramilitary organization.
