Tonomachi Posted February 4, 2020 Share #1 Posted February 4, 2020 This just sold one eBay (see link). Only one person bid on this piece so it would appear that more and more collectors of paratrooper wings are getting wise to these unscrupulous attempts to increase the value of a post war paratrooper wing by having a jeweler remove the clutch back pins and replace them with a pin back assembly. This was advertised as a WW2 era paratrooper wing when in fact it is a post war piece. https://www.ebay.com/itm/WW-II-JUMP-WINGS-Sterling-BADGE-PINBACK-Paratrooper-US-ARMY-/164050521345?nordt=true&nma=true&si=WKIq2DMXnhZGDxXOT9P8aNYtqeA%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557

jeff41st Posted February 4, 2020 Share #3 Posted February 4, 2020 Not much of a payoff for the effort. If the seller sold these knowing they were not WWII era, hopefully he/she lost money on the deal.
