Kansas Raider Posted February 2, 2020 Share #1 Posted February 2, 2020 I saw a airship pilot wing with a Pasquale Co maker mark on the back. Is this correct or reproduction? Thanks Steve
The Rooster Posted February 2, 2020 Share #2 Posted February 2, 2020 I saw a airship pilot wing with a Pasquale Co maker mark on the back. Is this correct or reproduction? Thanks Steve I dont know... But if you check Bobs site here http://www.ww2wings.com/wings/usaaf/usaafairshipballoon.shtml Theres not a one in the bunch. These are known airship pilot wings. Heres a link on the forum to one. https://www.usmilitariaforum.com/forums/index.php?/topic/323778-fake-air-ship-pasquale/?hl=pasquale
rathbonemuseum.com Posted February 2, 2020 Share #3 Posted February 2, 2020 Absolute fake. There were no Pasquale Co airship wings. There is a great article by John Ferguson (B-17 guy here on the forum) in the ASMIC publication The Trading Post. I encourage everyone to join ASMIC (really not much - http://www.asmic.org/ ). You can get physical print copies or a digital subscription that includes all past issues. John wrote an excellent article about the 7 known patterns and manufacturers (From Official Die, BB&B, William Link, Kinney, NS Meyer, Blackinton and A.E.Co). These are found both hallmarked and unhallmarked. It goes without saying that as one of the most desireable and rare US wing patterns with originals typically $1K+, many fakes abound.
