manayunkman Posted January 19, 2020 Share #5 Posted January 19, 2020 Never seen anything like it. The school must have had some interesting artifacts. A friend of mine was a part time teacher at a PA academy. They tried to start a museum and got plenty of artifacts from alums. But no money. They sold off some fantastic stuff including a small group to a Span Am vet.
CAC1901 Posted January 19, 2020 Share #6 Posted January 19, 2020 Wonderful Phillipine nationalist flag. I have pretty much all the Annual Reports to the Sec. of War for the Phillippine war period 1898-1902. Each one contains an extensive index so when I get time I'll see if anything might be mentioned that would shed some light. Thing is, capturing these flags was pretty common during the war there. Hundreds of small company sized engagements where momentos were gleaned from an abandoned Filipino army nipa hut HQ.

kfields Posted January 19, 2020 Share #8 Posted January 19, 2020 Great flag! After Luzon, it looks like 'P. I.' for Phillipine Islands.

EricJK Posted April 15, 2020 Share #10 Posted April 15, 2020 The Philippine flag has the blue stripe on the top during peace time and the red on top during wartime. A beautiful piece you have there. -Eric
clsspace Posted February 2, 2021 Share #11 Posted February 2, 2021 I had been looking for a similar styled flag with black stars that was captured on the Island of Marinduque. Story attached.
