MattS Posted January 17, 2020 Share #1 Posted January 17, 2020 A buddy picked this up, SN in the 153### range makes it 1917 production. Right side of the slide is marked, "Model of 1911. U.S. Army". Grips were replaced (I told him those needed to go!), but I was wondering if there's any other information available. Would contacting Colt give anything other than the delivery date to the government? Thanks!
kwill Posted January 17, 2020 Share #2 Posted January 17, 2020 Colt will give you the ship date and destination. They'll also include assembly date if you ask for it. It is hard to tell much from one dark picture but it appears to be refinished and has had the U.S. PROPERTY stamp removed from the frame so it has no collector value. Costa Posted January 18, 2020 Share #3 Posted January 18, 2020 if it is a refinished piece and u.s. markings removed, its just a shooter
