Hello,

I could buy this M1 helmet of the XV Corps.

Can the experts say if the liner is also from WW2 with these bad pics?

Of course I will try to get some better pictures.

I guess the helmet was repainted after the war with the brighter green and someone uncovered the emblem.

Also do you know what the red X means?

I could get it for about 280$. Is it ok?

Thanks in advance! :)

Best regards,

Lukas

Burning Hazard

I have to say that's a pretty good job on the paint removal over the insignia to whomever did it; it's not easy to strip layers like. Looks like a good project.

The Red X I would venture to say are Crossed Cannons, A Corps Artillery worn helmet at one time, probably WWII circa 1945, can not of course know if it would of been the Headquarters Battery of XV Corps Artillery or one of the Firing Battalions assigned too it.

I like it, would be weird for a fake to just have the area around the insignia with the removed paint job. I agree with Corps Artillery as well. Looks nice--I wonder if there is anything on the other side?

Thanks for the very helpful answers!

I also have money back warranty when I buy it, so no risk at all.

I then will look closer on the other side and maybe I will get off the rest of the paint if it's easy to remove.

The liner has no emblem on the outside but very nice and rough paint as I remember correctly.

Best regards,

Lukas
