atb Posted January 2, 2020 Share #3 Posted January 2, 2020 Railhead and Regulating Station SSI. The border and letter "R" colors show which railhead or regulating station the SSI represents.
RustyCanteen Posted January 2, 2020 Share #4 Posted January 2, 2020 Correct on the ID, but does this photo give a regiment? Clues suggest 17th Engineers.
tredhed2 Posted January 2, 2020 Share #5 Posted January 2, 2020 Looking at a 1963 Trading Post, the two possibilities, based on colors - either the Treves Railhead (yellow R, red border, black diamond/lozenge) or Liffel Le Grand Railhead (white R, red border, black diamond/lozenge). If a clue is a collar disk w/ 17 and and Engr castle, well then, you got me. 17th Engrs.
