M1 Carbine questions

Fellow forum members, I'm going to look at an M1 carbine tomorrow, and from the pictures received believe it to be a complete refurbish.....It's an Inland manufacture, supposedly having all early features except no high wood stock and has a four rivet handguard....The finish appears blued which I think is early war, later war being parkerized...The stock is bright and blonde in appearance, the barrel dated 1944....My only hope is maybe a presentation piece, but we haven't discussed any thing about a special serial number, and the picture didn't reveal any plaque.....Another thought is maybe Bavarian or Austrian used?....Any thoughts appreciated as usual...Happy Holidays!....Bodes

Here is a good website on Bavarian used M1 Carbines:

http://www.bavarianm1carbines.com/bavaria.html

Thanks for the link...Didn't see any identical, but read some were refurbished by the Germans and Austrians....Seems the Bavarian ones are marked accordingly and stayed pretty much untouched since the war....The guy is asking $1200 and hasn't mentioned any unusual markings stamped on it....Bodes

I think $1200 is too much especially if a complete refurbish

After seeing it in the flesh, the finish was parkerized....The stock was cleaned and had either tru-oil or varnish on it....Stock cartouche was still present.....Other bad news is the rear sights been played with...It has a flip sight now but looks like somebody hammered it in place....I'm thinking postwar arsenal refurb and had upgraded parts such as adjustable rear sight added...Than somebody went and returned it back to a flip sight configuration....I forgot to look for evidence on the barrel to see whether/not it had a type 3 barrel band at one time as well.....So yes, I agree the asking price is too high...Oh well, I'll just move on.....Bodes
