My buddy has a source that he get's stuff from occasionally.

Yesterday he sent he pics of, what I believe to be a named PH. Named to: Lawrence I Moore

The engraving seems small to others that have been posted.

Any info on this vet would be appreciated.

Probably 39696958 PFC Lawrence L Moore from Oklahoma. POW 1944, Stalag 7A.

I have a POW Purple Heart named just like this in late war small impressed (stamped) naming.

According to the NARA POW info, his "parent unit number"  was 101, which I assume means 101st Inf Regt.

As for service info, I'd reach out to the library/courthouse in his home town and see what they have on him. I've been surprised how many courthouses have DD-214s on file.

All your info is great and I'm thankful for your generous efforts. 101st Inf Regt which was part of the 26th Inf Div. There was a DFC in the acquisition and thought they might have gone together, but since he is possibly ID'd as infantry and it isn't as a Luft Stalag then it is just an additional acquisition.

Any other info found is always appreciated.

Merry Christmas to ALL!

Ben

Great Heart especially if it did belong to a 26th Division vet!
