Misfit 45 Posted December 17, 2019 Share #1 Posted December 17, 2019 Hi Folks, I found an Everitt knuckle knife for a good price. These were made during WWII, but I know a Marine that carried one in Vietnam. He had his in an M8A1 scabbard. When I called that to his attention, he said he had never seen one in a leather scabbard before. This one is in pretty rough condition. When a knife is in this bad of shape, I consider it fair game for a face lift. I know some would say don't touch it, but I would rather give the knife some dignity instead of it looking like damaged goods. I didn't touch the handle. I think it looks good just the way it is. Hope you like it. Marv It would appear that these pics are in reverse order. The pic of the whole knife alone is the spruced up version (not too much though) just the way I like it. sundance Posted December 17, 2019 Share #3 Posted December 17, 2019 Boy, that looks just fine to me. Congrats on your find. I'd rather have an example in rough shape than no example at all.

kfields Posted December 17, 2019 Share #5 Posted December 17, 2019 Nice knife! So you got this from the Marine you mentioned? If so, be sure to get his history and keep it with the knife. Kim
bdale Posted December 17, 2019 Share #6 Posted December 17, 2019 Looks damn good to me as it is! Has the look of history and use...sweat and calloused hands wore that paint off.........
Misfit 45 Posted December 17, 2019 Author Share #7 Posted December 17, 2019 In the second picture you can see the deep grind marks. In the first picture I removed 90 percent of the worst of them. In answer to kfields, l did not get this from my Marine friend. His Everett knife was in better than average shape with most of the black paint left on the handle.
