My question . . . an example - my Grampa served in the USN from 1956-1960. Would he have been eligible for the draft during the Vietnam years? Did they draft people who had already served? atb Posted December 13, 2019 Share #2 Posted December 13, 2019 Sounds like he would have been too old to be drafted during Vietnam. Age 26 was the oldest one could be drafted at that time. If I remember it right, after someone left active duty, and they were still of draft age, their draft card had a status code showing they had fulfilled their commitment.
